Shaddix, Sandra Jeanne
Sandra Jeanne Shaddix, formerly of Longview, TX, passed away on May 13th in Albuquerque, NM after a 13-month journey with brain cancer. She was 77.
Sandra was born on December 15, 1938 in El Dorado, AR to Arthur "Ott" and O'Dell Dennis. She grew up in New Orleans, LA and graduated from Martin Behrman High School in 1957. After high school she attended LSU in Baton Rouge, LA for 2 years. Sandra returned to New Orleans and worked for Brown & Root Industrial Services where she met the love of her life, Billy Joe Shaddix.
Sandra married Billy Joe in 1968 and they were happily married for 47 years. In 1979, they moved to Longview, TX. Sandra was a talented singer and was a long-time member of the choir at Greggton United Methodist Church. She taught at New Horizon Preschool and the Wee Learn Center in Longview, then provided childcare in her home for many years. Her children, grandchildren and the children she cared for were her pride and joy! Sandra's beautiful voice and bright, loving spirit brought happiness to all that knew her.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Shaddix of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Shawn Shaddix Reed and husband Matthew of Albuquerque, NM, Shelley Shaddix Honea and husband Josh of Longview, TX; her stepchildren, Keith Shaddix of Amory, MS, Suzanne Shaddix -Cox of Oxford, MS and Ed Shaddix of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Lainie, Lindsey and Ben Reed of Albuquerque, NM, Preston, Jadyn and Paxton Honea of Longview, TX, and Aiden Crowder of Dallas, TX; many close family friends & relatives.
Sandra was preceded in death by parents, Arthur "Ott" and O'Dell Dennis, and stepson, Bobby Joe "Joey" Shaddix.
A memorial service and celebration of Sandra's life will be held at Greggton United Methodist Church in Longview, TX on June 18th at 11am. A visitation and light lunch will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

Sandra was a lovely lady with much God given talent that she used to glorify his name. She was a Christian who shared God with many children. RIP Sandra. God bless your husband and family,
