Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 615 Edison St., Lafayette, LA. The Mass, officiated by the Rev. Labbe and Deacon Michael Morrison, will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum in Lafayette following the funeral. On December 7, 2018, Agnes Calais Landor Lewis passed away peacefully at Luling Living Center in Luling La where she has resided since 2007. Prior to that time she resided in Lafayette, LA. Agnes was born July 4, 1927, in Carencro, LA. She was the youngest child born to the late; Octave Landor and Celestine Calais Landor. She grew up in Carencro but moved to Lafayette, LA when she entered into Holy Matrimony with the late; Freddie Lewis. To this union, they were blessed with two sons. She worked for many years in the grocery store owned by her and her husband and briefly in the restaurant they owned. She then worked for Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital until her retirement in 1983. She was totally devoted to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and dancing to zydeco music! She is survived by her sons, Francis Elliot (Gwendolyn Moran) Lewis of Waggaman, LA and Tyrone (Antonia Gordon) Lewis of Port Allen, LA.; grandchildren Kaysha (Scott) Melancon, Nghana Lewis, Tarahna (Charles) Lewis, Francis (Chi) Lewis II, Tyrone "Jean"(Eboni) Lewis; great grandchildren Ciel Groves, Sasha Lewis, Cydney Gauff, Brock Lewis, Seth Melancon, Luke Melancon, Quincy Lewis, Jaikaylinn Jarvis, J'Alexandriea Jarvis, Julien Jarvis, Chandler Lewis, Blake Gaines, Charlaisa Tine and one great-great grandchild Jay'Alexandra Jarvis. She is also survived by her sister, Bernice Carmouche, of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Freddie, she was preceded by her parents Octave and Celestine Landor; grandchild: Tina Tine; five brothers: Louis, Percy, Roosevelt, Liones and Earnest Landor, and three sisters: Pearly Zenon, Wilda Pierre, and Cecile Joe. Visitation begins at the church at 8 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by Kinchen Funeral Home 1011 N St Antoine St Lafayette LA 70501.
