Wendell was born in Omaha, Neb., to Bill and Mardelle Jordan. He was a proud Navy veteran. After his military service, he completed his education in electronics at the University of Wyoming. He worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas where he met his wife of 43 years, Cathy Meeks Jordan. He eventually became proprietor of Schlinkmann-Jordan TV in Dallas. Wendell was a successful entrepreneur. He moved to New Mexico and was privileged to obtain a position working at the Apache Point Observatory at Sun Spot. He enjoyed ten years at the observatory until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy and two children, Troy and Wendi Jordan; two grandsons, Jordan Hall and Alex Padilla; and brother, Bob Crewdson of South Carolina. He endeared himself to many with his unique sense of humor.
Please join us to celebrate Wendell's life, Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at 5:00 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Cloudcroft.
The Jordan family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
