Lucy Mae Kelly, 93, passed away on March 1, 2015, in Alamogordo.
She was born on June 9, 1921, in San Augustine, Texas, to James Wiley and Lillian (Doggett) Roberts.
Lucy loved gardening and watching her favorite teams – the Dallas Cowboys, LA Lakers and Texas Longhorns.
Survivors include her children Verna Jacobs and her husband John, Ruby Lowe, Bobby Irving Kelly and his wife Tammy, Glenda Taylor and her husband Jerry, Rhonda Patton and her husband Dewitt, and Johnnie Faye Preston and her husband Larry. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild, along with a brother Granville Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Horace Kelly, and siblings James Wiley Roberts, Jr., Beatrice Roberts, Maggie Thelma Benton, Leonard Roberts and O'leatha Starks.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Corinth Baptist Church, with Pastor James Forney officiating.
Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The Kelly family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
