DANIEL CHAVANA JR.
Daniel Chavana Jr. "Chaw" "Danny", entered eternal rest June 24, 2025 in Palito Blanco, Texas. He was born July 22, 1955 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Daniel Perez Chavana Sr. and Berta Canales Chavana. Daniel worked in the oilfield industry as a landman for many years. He also had a profound love for the outdoors. Some of his favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, surfing, and shooting guns, activities that allowed him to connect with the natural world and experience the thrill of adventure. Hunting provided Daniel with a sense of challenge and fulfillment, as he appreciated the patience required to track game in the wild. Fishing was a peaceful escape for him, a time to reflect and enjoy the tranquility of the water. Surfing was a passion that brought him joy, as he enjoyed the excitement of riding the waves. And shooting guns was not just a hobby for Daniel; it was the time he enjoyed sharing it with friends and family during weekend outings. Daniel's presence always brought a sense of joy. His ability to forge deep connections with those around him made him a beloved figure to many. As Daniel's life is reflected on, it is clear that he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His passion for the outdoors, coupled with his love for family and friends, created a legacy that will endure in the hearts of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Perez Chavana Sr. and Berta Canales Chavana.
Daniel is survived by his sister, Debra Chavana Powell (Joseph R.) of Corpus Christi; special friends, Tandi Rasmussen of Sandia, Mark Frankin of Seabrook, Kerry Malone of League City, Jimmy Wooder of San Marcos, California, Robert Rudine of Maunaloa, Hawaii, and Buck Buchanan of Alice; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 beginning at 11:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel in Alice with words of remembrance beginning at 12:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice followed by a graveside service at Ozuna Family Cemetery in Palito Blanco.
Pallbearers will be Mark Franklin, Kerry Malone, Buck Buchanan, Roland Gutierrez, Trey Shores, and Cristian Gonzales.
