Rex Vernon Wadsworth, 88, of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at Bingham Memorial Hospital following an illness.
Rex was born on April 2, 1928 in Idaho Falls to Vernon Abiah Wadsworth and Blanche Annette Sessions.
Rex attended school in Chinook, Montana and graduated from high school in 1947. Rex met the love of his life, Donna Elaine Jensen, and were married in 1961 in Reno, Nevada. Together they had two sons, Scott Clay and Kris Vernon, along with one daughter, Debbie.
They lived in Vegas for a short time, but then moved to Blackfoot where Rex spent most of his life.
Rex was a farmer at heart and called his operation Wadsworth Hog and Cattle Company. He was also well known in Idaho as Wadsworth Repair. He also worked as a heavy equipment mechanic at the INEL Site for many years until his retirement.
Rex loved fishing, hunting and teasing. In his younger years, he loved riding horses.
Rex was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Rex is survived by his son, Scott Clay (Diana) Wadsworth of Blackfoot, Idaho; daughter Debbie (Robby) Leviton of Kirkland, Washington; brother Donald (Doreen) Wadsworth of Shelley, Idaho; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Rex is preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his son, Kris Vernon Wadsworth; parents Vernon and Blanche Wadsworth; and brother Jay Wadsworth.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Hawker Funeral Home. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.

Hi Granddad! It's been almost 4 years now and I miss you and Kris an awful lot! So does your Great Grandson Dont'e. He graduates HS next June - 75 years exactly after you graduated! Merry Christmas! Love you so much!

Condolences to the Wadsworth family and friends. I enjoyed meeting Rex several years ago at his daughter's house for a Christmas celebration. He loved his family and the music that was brought that night. Rest in peace Rex. You will be missed.
