Robert James Moore (Bob), 79, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away May 1, 2017 at his home from an apparent heart attack.
He was born July 26, 1937 in Roy, Utah to Charles Simpson Moore and Ada Mae Cook Moore.
He graduated from Weber High School in 1955 and was an active member of the FFA. Bob worked at Hill Air Force Base for 32 years as Software Support engineer and later a as a Supervisor. He retired in 1993.
Bob also had a TV repair business and owned several apartment complexes.
On October 13, 1972, he married Linda Farrar in Elko, Nevada. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 20, 2006.
They lived in South Ogden and then Roy Utah, before moving to Blackfoot in 2002.
Bob enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and golf. He was an avid Utah Jazz fan and served on the board of the Utah Jazz Booster Club for several years.
He always had a good work ethic, which he passed on to his children.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of Blackfoot; 5 children, Brenda (Doug) Postel of Clearfield, UT, Deborah Moore of Midvale, UT, Clay Ross of Blackfoot, ID, Nancy (Clay) Whittemore of Liberty, UT and Shannon (Kristie) Wilkinson of Roy, UT; brother, Gary Moore; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Ryan Grant Ross.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Blackfoot 13th Ward LDS Chapel. The family will meet with friends on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com
