Alex "Elic" Guillory

Alex (Elic) Guillory, 95, of Lake Charles, LA departed this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in a LaCombe, LA hospital, following an illness.
Elic, or "Toe" as he was called by close family members, was born April 10, 1925 in St. Landry Parish, LA and lived in Lake Charles for 64 years. He worked for 29 years in the kitchen of downtown Lake Charles' Pioneer Club. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed cutting grass, tending to his vegetable garden, and playing bingo on Wednesday nights at Sacred Heart Church. Elic was a faithful member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church for 64 years. At the church's 100th anniversary in October 2019, he was honored as one of the parish's oldest members.
Mr. Guillory was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Rose Simien Guillory; parents, Paul and Alice Guillory; sister, Helen Jones; and brother, Eldridge Guillory.
He is survived by his only child, Elizabeth Guillory of Lake Charles; one brother-in-law, Albert Simien Sr. of Lake Charles; three sisters-in-law, JoAnn Simien and Annabelle Amos, both of Lake Charles, and Mary Lynn Thibodeaux of Beaumont, Texas; godsons, Howard Leger, James Porter, and Dennis Thibodeaux, all of Lake Charles; goddaughters, Jacqueline M. Simien of Beaumont, Texas and Roni Lewis of Houston, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Guillory will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the funeral beginning at noon on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lake Charles, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
