Bike, Allan Dale 11/12/1933 - 2/17/2021 Allan Dale Bike, 87, of Dexter, Michigan passed away at home, surrounded by his wife and other loved ones, on February 17, 2021 due to cancer. Allan was born in Long Beach, California in 1933 to John and Florence Bike. Allan was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He graduated from Long Beach State University with a B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry, with the notable distinction of receiving the first graduate degree awarded by Long Beach State in Chemistry. He spent his career with Royal Dutch Shell. He was given the nickname of "Captain Kraton" for his work in developing the Kraton polymer in the 1960s. Allan enjoyed spending time outside playing golf and tennis and was a devoted fan of Michigan football. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Throughout his life, he maintained a positive attitude even in the face of adversities. Allan was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Ann Arbor. Allan is survived by his wife, Olga; his daughter, Stacy Birmingham (William) of Sewickley, PA; his son, Lon (Sandy) of Murrieta, CA; and his sister, Joan VanWinkle (David) of Los Alamitos, CA. He is also survived by his wife's children whom he considered as his own, Gregory (Denise) of Chelsea, MI, Jeffrey (Patricia) of Pinckney, MI, Rodney of Dexter, MI, and Timothy (Michelle Stevens) of Brighton, MI. In addition, he is survived by 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda; and his parents. A memorial mass will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 with visitation beforehand at 12:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2250 E. Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI. Please respect all COVID-19 restrictions; masks are required for all entering the church. Donations in Allan's memory may be made to Catholic Relief Services (Catholic Relief Services -P.O. Box 17090 Baltimore, Maryland 21297-0303; or online ) or to the National Cancer Institute Gift Fund (you may send a check or money order payable to "The National Cancer Institute" and a letter indicating that the donation is to be used for the Gift Fund in memory of Allan to: Director National Cancer Institute Building 31 Room 11A-16, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20892).

Dear Olga and family, we are so sorry for your loss of a wonderful gentleman and we know he will be missed to much by his family. We always enjoyed spending an evening at Knight's whenever we were visiting Suzanne & Bud (mom & dad) and chatting with Al. May he rest in peace after his brave battle. Love Cynthia & Bob Oddy
