I grew up on Berkeley. Carolyon lived 6 or 7 houses down he block from me. She was the same age as my own mother. She was there for me when I was a "tweener" and a teenager when my mother and I butted heads, which was often. She always told me to live my life, laugh often, be happy. I always felt she was on my side. I visited her on occasion in her later years. She was still vibrant and fun and funny into her last years. She always made me feel that we were friends and co-conspirators - as if we were teenagers together - and we both understood the world my own mom lived in.
I loved her dearly!!
Rest in peace Carolyon - you were the best! I love this photo of you. It captures your very essence!! I'm so glad I saw you recently. XOXO

Carolyon and Bob were an important part of our lives. We met them when we moved to Newport West in Ann Arbor in 1993, and we quickly formed a tight friendship. We fondly remember travelling with them to Jamaica and visiting them at their cottage in Lakeside on Higgins Lake. We kiddingly called Carolyon Mom because she was 20 years older, but she was ageless because she was such fun to be with her great sense of humor, curiosity and love of life. She always remembered our birthdays with cards (which we have saved) on which she had written clever and loving notes. Our lives were made better because of our friendship. We certainly miss her, but treasure our good memories of this very special lady
