Raaflaub, David Howard passed away on September 5, 2020 at Oasis Care Facility after a rapid decline in his health. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May, 28, 1944 to Howard Earl and Jane O. U. Raaflaub. He moved with his family to Michigan. He was valedictorian of his high school class in Plymouth, Michigan. He was a Ford Scholar and received a four year scholarship which he applied to his bachelor's degree at University of Michigan. He received a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University law school. He had a private law practice in Ann Arbor for many years. He was also a real estate broker and had his securities license.Dave had many interests. As a youth he earned his God and Country award as an Eagle Scout. He had an interest in films and was in a few films. He had his pilot's license and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was a libertarian and ran for several offices including mayor of Ann Arbor. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed starting business ventures. He is survived by his sisters, Laura Shearer and Mary Koelsch and his long-term significant other, Barbara Hoyt. Barbara and Dave shared many years together along with their beloved pets, Peter the 'genius' talking parakeet and an adorable Siamese cat, Si. Dave's humor and indomitable spirit will be missed.

David was a friend and we will miss him. We have people that come into our lives for a short while and Dave was a friend that I was honored to know since 2010. He made a difference in people's lives that he came across in life for the good of mankind. My prayers go out to David's family at this time. God Bless You and keep you.

I didn’t know Dave really well, but he was very nice thr few times we spoke. I am so sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. To his family and Barb, my heart is with you. Sending love and healing thoughts.

Its been a long time seeing the name Gordon and Susie Campbell as we grew up with him at the Presbyterian church in Plymouth Michigan. We send our condolences.
