Very sad to hear of Jim's passing. The "Three Kings" are now with the ages; A.J Smith, Kieth Diver and now Jim Mynning.

Those three were Legend to me; Giants. Waco's, Stinson, Pitts, Super Cubs...American Heroes and keepers of the flame. Old school and tempered..
Jim didn't know me and took me around the patch in his Cub then got out and said, "have fun, Be back in an hour"..Id never flown a tail dragger before. So, I went and had fun...Always there for me when I needed to talk, always sound advice and always with an even keel. Whenever I had RON's through the years in DTW Id rent a car and go out to Myers field. Root around until I found one of them and just sit and be in the presence of greatness.
You were a great Man Jim; you left a wonderful legacy in those aloft and to those who found life agreeable only on the ground. You shaped us and made us want to be better.

You did that for me.

Regards,
Rob Webster

Terribly sorry to hear this. Jim was a close friend of my husband and bowled with him for many years throughout the 50's 60's and 70's. Condolences to his family. He will be missed.

It was such a sad shock to learn of Jim's passing. I was unable to articulate how I felt. As I look back on our friendship, over many years, the stories, laughs and our mutual love of flying keep filling my head.

I feel lucky to have known Jim and I will miss him. Judi and I send our condolences to his family.

Rest in Peace Dear Friend,
