The main thing I can say about JRJ is that he always had SWAG. I first saw J back in 1988 when the commercial for his single "Class is Now in Session" ran on channel 62 in Detroit. I was awed and went everywhere trying to find it. I didn't have a chance to meet him until 1990, but once I did I realized "this is a real cool brother".

Even in later years when we talked about business, real estate and other things outside of music, he was always dropping jewels and nuggets of info. I constantly learned from him.

I'll sign off the way he did whenever we ended a conversation, "One Love My Dude"...

I am sad to hear that Jon has passed...such a loving, energetic spirit. May his light shine on in heaven. Verona - he's with you always. Love and prayers to you. ~ Lily Lee

I was saddened to learn today of the passing of Jonathan. My prayers and condolences to all his family and friends. I always enjoyed my time working with Jonathan at NSK . He always exuded a joy in his work, laughter, friendship, but always a deep commitment to his customers. I still have a photo of his car from a few years ago after a snow storm, which struck me as so funny back then. He brushed away all the snow from the side and the window, but left about a foot on the roof. When we laughed about it, he just said As long as I can see, the wind will take care of the rest! He was so right about that.
