Brown, Lois South Lyon, MI (formerly of Ypsilanti) Age 90, peacefully passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at home with her loving family at her side. She was born October 5, 1930 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Edwin and Wilma (Horning) Bethke. She was also raised by her grandparents William and Martha Bethke and Aunt Helen and Emil Bethke. Lois graduated from Ann Arbor High in 1948. On March 9, 1951, she married Cletis Jr. Brown in San Antonio, TX and following 41 years of marriage, he preceded her in death February 23, 1993. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and cousin and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by: three children, William of Madison, TN, James of Ann Arbor and Gail (Fred) May of Weston, WV; eleven grandchildren, Bradley (Janet) Brown of Ypsilanti, Laura (Brett) Thacker of Crestwood, KY, Matthew (Cory) Brown of Ann Arbor, Kellie (James) Caincross of South Lyon, Lauren (Lance) Patterson of Dallas, TX, Samantha (Ryan) May of Waterford, Michael May of Ypsilanti, Karlyn Brown of Kalamazoo, Logan Brown of Jackson, Darren Brown of Canton and Jason Brown of Willis; fifteen great grandchildren; three cousins who she grew up with, Judy (Jack) Erwin, Nancy (Gary) Dresselhouse and Bill (Nancy) Bethke and cousin Bob (Sue) Merchant of Muskegon. On Memorial Day 2014, her house burned down. Her granddaughter Kellie had her come and live with her family in South Lyon. Viewing will be 3-8 pm Friday, November 20, 2020 at Stark Funeral Professionals. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral service will be for the immediate family only. Burial will take place in Bethlehem Cemetery, Ann Arbor. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Ypsilanti Free Methodist Church. Please sign her guest book at www.starkfuneral.com.

Jim, Bill, Gail & family, So sorry to hear about the passing of your dear Mother, Grand Mother & Great Grand Mother. She was always a kind and gracious lady and treated all of us as if we were part of her family. May you find peace that she is now reunited with her loving husband in the house of the Lord.
