I am sorry to learn of Dr. Knopf's passing. What an accomplished gentleman he was. I will miss his thoughtful conversations and smile. Wishing the family peaceful hearts.

My deepest sympathy to Dr. Knopf's family and friends. Dr. Knopf was my endocrinologist when I was first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He was always helpful and encouraging at every visit. On one particular visit Dr. Knopf noticed I had gained a few pounds. He looked up from my chart and said with a little grin, "you learned how to cheat!" I was heartbroken when Dr. Knopf retired from the University of Michigan Hospitals Endocrinology clinic. He kindness, knowledge and humor are missed. Thank you Dr. Knopf for teaching me how to manage my diabetes.
