John Key Obituary

A graveside service for Mr. John O. Key Jr., 80 of Eastaboga, will be on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Forestlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Don Barnett officiating. Mr. Key passed away on January 21, 2021 at Rainbow Omega. He is survived by his best friend, Leon Buchanan and wife, Won L Buchanan, his Rainbow Omega family, and several cousins and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Oran Sr. and Lucille J. Key. Mr. Key was born in Calhoun County on October 28, 1940. He was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church and was also an Eagle Scout. As a young man John loved riding his horse and once got lost on Coldwater Mt. and had to spend the night there. Despite a severe accident when he was 16 John kept a good mood and persevered. It would be hard to find someone who enjoyed a cup of coffee more than John. He lived his last years at Rainbow Omega where he was loved and well taken care of. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Rainbow Omega at P.O. Box 740, Eastaboga, Alabama, 36260. I remember his mother, Lucille Key always bringing him to church at Coldwater United Methodist. She would always bring him in his wheel-chair and he loved to worship! They will now be together again to worship.
