Anne E. Slane
AGE: 96 • Middletown
On Friday, March, 17, 2017, our angel got her wings. Anne E. Slane, 96, of Middletown, NJ, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 1, 1921 in Dorchester, MA. Anne was a WWII bride. She worked as a Nurse's Aide for Christ Hospital in Jersey City and she raised 7 children. She was a beautiful person, deeply believing in love and forgiveness. She adored her grandchildren. Anne had a sharp mind, keeping up to date on current events and politics. She was an avid Mets fan and she enjoyed music and eating, not so much the cooking, and maybe a glass of red wine every now and then.
Surviving are her three daughters, MaryAnne Carey of Keyport, NJ, Margaret Canessa of Newton, NJ, and Annie (Robert) Troy of Middletown, NJ; her son, Michael Slane of Carlsbad, CA; her eight grandchildren, Kevin Canessa, Robert Troy, Megan Troy, Colleen Dawson, Michael Slane, William Slane, Michelle Donker, Erin Slane; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Anne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Slane, Sr., and three sons, Matthew J. Slane, Patrick Slane, Thomas Slane, Jr.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., Middletown, NJ.
