My condolences to the family and to all of us that are missing Carolyn SO much. She was a role model for all of us, and always spoke up for the good of her department.
She left a great vacuum and we will remember her intelligence, positive thinking and constructive mindset forever. At a personal level, she was a good friend and I will always miss her presence across the office suite, reassuring me, advising me on advising students and chatting about horses and movies.

Dr. Bentivegna was more than a mentor to me; she was the motherly guidance that I lacked. She mentored me throughout my college experience and made sure I gave her my full potential. I wish I would have visited her more. I am the person I am today because of Dr. Bentivegna. She always had my best interest at hand. Dr. Bentivegna will never be forgotten. I look forward to the day I get to see her again.

My deepest condolences to her family. She was an awesome person and a great mentor. She taught me hard work and perseverance and I will never forget our bond. I was lucky enough to work with her, even as her teaching assistant. Her love for teaching always amazed me! She never made it too easy for students because she always saw that potential in all of them. She was so caring and patient; especially, with the undergraduates that came in the lab without any experience.

I will miss Dr. Bentivegna so much!

Dr. Bentivegna will be a sorely missed part of our Seton Hall community. She was dedicated to her students, committed to meaningful and valuable work and willing to voice her concerns for what is best for science and SHU. She was a role model for many. I enjoyed our friendship and her stories about grad school, her love of animals, our shared connection to the shore (I could go on). I am deeply saddened and shocked by her tragic loss and am praying that the family find peace. May God's arms hold you up and together in this time. We will remember her well here at Seton Hall--students, colleagues, staff, administrators, all.
