Mr. Broderick- just the name makes me and all of us who were lucky enough to grow up on Oxford Lane smile.
He was a giant to us- big man, big voice, big heart. Next door neighbor for half a century, how lucky we were!
He and Mrs. Broderick were there for Mom every step of the way when Dad got sick, one of the last things Dad said to me when I mentioned them was "Faithful Friends".
As a lecter at St. Clements, his booming baritone was to us kids " the Voice of God"- and God help you if you walked on freshly laid grass seed on his beloved lawn!
I will always, always smile when I think of this unforgettable man. May he rest in the eternal peace he so richly deserves
