Dennis J. Kitson

Dennis died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on April 5, 2021.

Dennis was born on September 10, 1942 and lived in Greenville/St. Paul's Parish, Jersey City, NJ. He graduated from Marist High School in 1960, St. Peter's College in 1964, and then attended Seton Hall Graduate School majoring in Finance and Economics. Dennis then served in the US Army for two years, stationed in the finance office in Seoul, Korea.

He married Cathleen Mary Juronics, RN in 1969 and had 2 children, Patrick Eugene and Denise Ellen. They moved to Middletown, NJ in 1977 and lived in Monmouth County for 34 years, where he served on the Parish Counsel and PTA Executive Board of St. Agnes, Atlantic Highlands, NJ.

Dennis started his 46-year banking career at First Jersey Bank, in Jersey City, in 1965 in the Investment Department as an Assistant Vice President, promoted to Vice President and then Senior Vice President during his tenure.

He had a successful banking career and was a longtime member of NJ Bankers Association. He was recognized as one of the top 10 performing money managers for equity funds in the country. He retired from Wachovia Bank in 2011 as a Senior Vice Present and Regional Director of Investments.

Dennis was devoted to his family and felt that his best title was "Dad" to his children and "Pop-Pop" to his granddaughter, Emory.

After retiring, Dennis moved to Sarasota, FL where he and Cathleen had time to travel extensively. His favorite trip was taking his family to Ireland in 2016 to trace their roots. A family cruise to Alaska in 2019 was his final trip to celebrate 50 years of marriage.

Dennis was survived by his wife of 51 years, Cathleen (nee. Juronics); his son, Patrick and his wife, Jennifer Long, and their daughter, Emory of Kennett Square, PA; his daughter, Denise Kitson, and her wife, Julie Gesuale of Coatesville, PA; his sister-in-law, Teresa Juronics of Sarasota, FL; his only niece, Sandi (nee. Ferrara) Lamparelli of Allentown, NJ; his Uncle, Michael Kitson from Colonia, NJ. He is predeceased by his parents, Patrick P. Kitson and Agnes (nee. Doran) Kitson and his sister Janet (nee. Kitson) Ferrara.
