Mr. Meehan was one of my two favorite teachers at Red Bank High School, the other one being Mary Diggins who taught Algebra. I had him for World History in my freshman year and loved going to his class. He encouraged me to do extra credit reports and then present them before the class. At the time I was a shy individual (you'd never know that today,) so his encouragement meant a lot. He is one of the reasons I eventually became a college professor. Thank you Mr. Meehan for caring. And to his family, please know he will always be remembered fondly by those of us who had the privilege of being instructed by him.

He was and is my dad. As John said,he was truly loved by many, especially his family. He would say to Steven, my grandson, " I am the great and powerful Oz"and we know it to be true. Dad was my biggest fan when I ran on RBC girls track with coach, Jack Rafter who also was a history teacher and a great man. I am fortunate to be a hospice nurse with the VNA and I am greatful we could care for him.God bless all.
