Ellen Doreen Tiernan
AGE: 87 • Brick
Ellen Doreen Tiernan, 87, of Brick, New Jersey, passed away on January 30th, 2017 in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was born on February 9th, 1929 in Belfast, Ireland, a daughter to the late Harold and Nellie Watson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Edward Tiernan in 2016. Ellen and Edward were married for 67 years. Ellen lived in Kearny, NJ for nearly 50 years, then lived in Brick, NJ for nearly 37 years after finally moving to Myrtle Beach with her daughter. Ellen was a former member of the Shore Acres Club and the Red Hatter's Club. She also worked as a receptionist for Dr. Villazor for 30 years. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen (Charles) Baumgartner, son Ronald (Jackie) Tiernan, grandsons Robert (Megan) and John Baumgartner, granddaughters Michelle (Johnathan) Dawkins, Kristin (Jessie) Thompson, Melissa (Christopher) Sitter and great-grandchildren Casey and Samantha Baumgartner, Brody and Noah Dawkins, Glenn Thompson and Colin Sitter. Cremation service will be private and a memorial service is scheduled for March 11th, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 714 Herbertsville Road in Brick, NJ 08724. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shore Acres Club at PO Box 4221, Brick, NJ 08723.

Doreen and Ed are both missed especially when I pass their house in Brick. Have memories of both of them for the short period I was able to know them.

It is with much sadness that we heard of Doreen's passing. She was a lovely lady and great neighbor. We have very fond memories of her.
