Janet Salerno
Tinton Falls - Janet W Salerno, 91, a 65 year resident of Tinton Falls passed away Tuesday, December 12th. She was born & raised in Jersey City to the late John A. and Rose (nee Smith) Whitaker. She graduated from Lincoln HS in 1944 and her first career was in the business offices of N.J. Bell Telephone. Her true calling was caring for her family.
She is predeceased by her childhood sweetheart, & beloved husband, the late Tony Salerno Sr; and brothers Frederick, John Jr, & Robert.
Surviving are her three loving sons; Tony Jr (Karen) of Holmdel, Frank of Tinton Falls, & Paul of Long Branch; two beloved grandchildren Tony III & Samantha Rose; her sister Dorothy Bonsangue of Fort Myers, FL; & many loving nieces, nephews.
A celebration of her life will be Tuesday, December 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 20th at St. Leo the Great R.C. Ch. 50 Hurley's Lane Lincroft, NJ with entombment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Rd. Middletown, NJ 07701
