Ildefonso C. Parungao
Manalapan - Ildefonso C. Parungao (Pons), 84 of Manalapan passed away peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2018, surrounded by his beloved wife and children.
Pons was born in Floridablanca, Pampanga in the Philippines. He moved to Brooklyn, NY and worked as an accountant for NYC Housing Preservation and Development for 30 years and has later settled in Marlboro. He is survived by his wife, Aurora Phillips Parungao of Manalapan, his three children, Carolyn McGackin and her husband Brian, Christopher Parungao and his wife Susana, and Catherine Bailey and her husband Shaun. He loved his five grandchildren, Tyler, Christopher, Bryce, Emanuella and Justin. Pons was the eldest of six siblings, Eli, Joe, Josie, Tina, Ellen, and Jimmy and had many extended family members.
He helped as many of his family members and friends as he could and he brought people together whenever he could. He always opened his doors and welcomed people with a smile. He was dear to us all and will be missed and remembered by many people.
Visitation will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St. in Freehold on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by entombment at Maplewood Chapel Mausoleum.
