Janie and family
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing
You were all such a wonderful part of my life
He never failed to make me laugh and smile
He always said babysitting your children would be a great way to learn to be a Mom
He was right!
Jim was a fine man who always had time for you no matter how busy he was
Sending hugs and love to all

I would like to say I am deeply sorry for the loss of a great man. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times whether it was at church, at Sally T's or seeing him around town. My greatest memory of Mr. Garrett is when I'd see him at church or at Sally T's and i was with my grandparents and he'd tell me stories of how he had the pleasure of working for The New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. I remember him telling me and my grandparents how proud he was of all of his kids especially Jason who is the head coach of the Cowboys. Rest In Peace Mr. Garrett.

Jane,

I remember Jim as a classmate and also his mother who took over the parenting when his father died iwhile traveling on a business trip. I also remember eugene and richard who was in your class.

You and Jim came to our house in Rutherford one night and Jim educated us in the perils of playing in the Canadian football league. Quite a story.

I followed Jason,s career when he played at Columbia and then at Princeton. I,m the only easterner in Naperville and have bragged about my knowing the Dallas coach ( I still root for the Giants and don,t like the Bears) and his father in high school.

Kathy has told me about your great family and I'm sure will have plenty of support from them .

Jim will be in my prayers.

Sincerely,

Tom Sullivan

As a resident monmouth beach for years and a neighbor of coach garret I will always recall him running through town carrying his pitcher of lemonade. As a young high school coach i would watch him put various athletes through their summer workouts and aspire to be the kind of person and coach he was. RIP coach you will never be forgotten
