Joan Patricia Butler
AGE: 78 • Lakewood
Joan Patricia Butler 78 of Original Leisure Village, Lakewood died Thursday, January 26, at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation, Brick. Born and raised in Jersey City, she resided in Bayonne for 30 years before moving to Lakewood in 2006. She was employed as a Bookkeeper for 15 years at Emerson Radio and TV, Jersey City. She then worked in the same capacity for Allied Freight Trucking Company, Hoboken for another 10 years before retiring 12 years ago. She was a parishioner of St Mary of the Lake Church, Lakewood. In addition to soap operas like General Hospital, she also enjoyed 50's and 60's music and dance. In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by 6 brothers, Joseph, James, Ignatius, Frank, John, and Vincent Butler, and 6 sisters, Frances, Vera, Constance, Muriel, Mildred, and Elizabeth. Surviving are her 2 Godchildren, Dr. Elisa J. Velazquez and Frank McGuire, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation is Sunday from 1-5 pm at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Monday at 10:30 am at St Mary of the Lake Church, Lakewood with interment to follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. On behalf of the Diaz family I want to wish our deepest condolences to the Butler family, Aunt Joanie was also God mother to Jalissa G. Diaz and was deeply loved by us.
