Paul L. Gratzel
Toms River - Paul L. Gratzel, 96, of Toms River. Died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Green Acres Manor in Toms River. Born in Northampton, PA, he lived in Northampton, PA and Teaneck, NJ before moving to Toms River in 1972.
Before retiring, Mr. Gratzel was a Parts and Service Coordinator for Ford dealerships in the shore area. He was a WW II veteran of the United States Army serving in North Africa and Italy. He was member of the Knights of Columbus for many years.
Mr. Gratzel is survived by his wife Mary (nee Daurio) and by their children; Paul F. (Arlene) of Toms River, Gregory of Garberville, CA, Nancy of Pine Beach, Joseph (Denise) of Manasquan, and Toni of Pine Beach; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Paul was loved as, Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Pop-o, or the Silver Fox. He equally availed himself to all… be it car trouble, life's general woes, or financial problems. He was always there with a solution. There wasn't much he couldn't fix (often with duct tape), and could be counted on to remind us that he was always on our side. His children and grandchildren will cherish his example as a member of the Greatest Generation.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 20 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 21 at 10:30 AM at Saint Luke RC Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ. Cremation will be private.
The Neary Quinn Funeral Home in Manasquan is in charge of all arrangements.
