Peter DePonte

Howell - Peter DePonte, of Howell, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at home. He was 64 years old.

Peter and his brother Anthony owned and operated P DePonte Construction for many years. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed watching the Yankees, Giants and the Boston Celtics. He also sponsored numerous softball leagues.

He was predeceased by his parents Anthony Sr. and Florence DePonte.

Surviving is his daughter Lauren DePonte McConnell and husband Ryan, his sons Daren DePonte, Kross DePonte, his sister Theresa Whitley, his brother Anthony DePonte Jr. and wife Kathie, grandchildren Gianna DePonte, Mickey McConnell, Leila-Jade McConnell, and his nieces and nephews Tracy DePonte, Patrick DePonte, Brian Crammer, Lexxi Crammer, and Jill Whitley.

Interment will be private for the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Francioni, Taylor & Lopez Funeral Home, Neptune. http://www.ftl-funeralhome.com

My dad meant a lot to so many people that he met over his 64 years. We are going to miss him very much. I will see to it that his legacy lives on as long as I am here.

He was one of the most kind and generous people i knew. Family meant a lot to him and he always valued that bond. His sense of humor was irreplaceable and he was by far the best pop. He loved his sitcoms and would always send minute long videos of Kramden or Heffernan. I love you so much pop.

I miss my dad so much, he was the best. It’s so hard to put into words how many people he touched and helped over the years. I will think about him every day and miss him always. I hope I can be a small part of who he was and keep his legacy alive.
