Hilman Knight, 79 of Wall, NJ passed away on Nov 22, 2017 at Preferred Care at Wall. He was born in Hattiesburg, MS and was raised in Baton Rouge, LA before moving to NJ approximately 60 years ago.
Hilman was a Security Guard for 279 Condominium Association in Long Branch for 25+ years retiring in May 2017. Hilman enjoyed spending much of his time with his family, cracking jokes and creating laughter.
He is survived by his wife Shirley (Berghoff) Knight. Two sons Steven Knight and his wife Tara of Bayville, NJ. George Burns and his wife Jennifer of Howell, NJ and his daughter Sherrie Hicks and her husband Seth of Brielle, NJ. Hilman also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and one great grandson.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday November 27, 2017 from 3-7 pm at the Johnson-McGinley Funeral Home 2652 Hwy 138 Wall, NJ. Funeral Service will be at 6:30 pm on Monday at the Funeral Home. Interment Private.

I worked with Bill all the years he was at 279 Third Avenue. His smiling face started my day for many years. He was a true gentleman and was greatly missed when he had to retire. My condolences to his family.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I missed his smile and gentle nature when he retired. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. I guess God, needed another angel to watch over us all. Until we meet again my friend.
