Opal M. Lau
Lakewood - Opal M. Lau passed away Tuesday February 6th, 2018 at her home in Lakewood, surrounded by her family. She was 77 years old.
Born in Texas and raised in Neptune, NJ, Opal was a resident of Belmar for 15 years before finally settling in Lakewood.
Opal loved spending time with her family, and all of her Original Leisure Village friends. Opal worked for the Ocean Township Municipality for 15 years. After her retirement she went on to purchase the Belmar Deli, which she owned and operated until 1999. Opal then moved to the Original Leisure Village where she continued out her retirement.
Opal is predeceased by her parents Gene and Mildred Spina.
Surviving is her husband of 34 years John Lau. Children Juliann Holl, and her husband Edward, Gina Wright, and her husband Benjamin. Grandchildren Benjamin, Christina, and Thomas. Opal was awaiting the arrival of her first great grand child Leonard Henry. Opal is also survived by her Brother Bill Rouch and his wife Helen, and her Sister Jackie Ward and her husband John, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Visitation service will be held Friday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood NJ.
Funeral Service Saturday, 10 am at the funeral home.
