Dorothy Stowman

Dorothy Stowman, 84, of Lakewood, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Care One at Wall with her family by her side. Dottie was born in Long Branch and had lived and raised her family in Neptune and Oceanport before moving to Lakewood 15 years ago. Dottie retired from Roxanne's Swimsuits, Neptune, as a swimsuit maker. She enjoyed bowling, trips to Atlantic City and taking mini vacations.
Dottie was predeceased by her loving husband, John (Jack) Stowman; her four brothers: John, Tom, Joe and Robert Steele. She was the devoted mother of four sons and a daughter-in-law: John (Chip) and Cami Farruggio of Wall, Timothy Farruggio of Long Branch, Michael Farruggio of Bradley Beach and Stephen Farruggio of Lakewood. Dottie was a cherished grandmother to John and Chelsea Farruggio, Nicole Ward and her husband Stephan, Mark Sharin, Jr. and his wife Kelly; a cherished great grandmother to Eric and Nola Ward and Graham Sharin. She is also survived by her stepchildren Karen (Bob) Voorhees, Cathy Stowman Plancy and John Stowman and their children.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, from 4-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home 10 am on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. Interment will follow at Mt Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
