Robert W. Heine
AGE: 88 • Brick
Robert W. Heine, 88, of Greenbriar II in Brick, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 28, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, he grew up in Irvington and lived in Hartford, CT, Norfolk, VA, Clifton and Sea Girt before moving to Brick 28 years ago.
Mr. Heine retired as Vice President at the Louis P. Pipi Insurance Agency in Wall in 1989. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Navy during WWII from 1943 - 1946 and also served in the US Navy Reserves after the War. He was a graduate of Irvington High School and received his BS in Mathematics at Dartmouth University in Hanover, NH.
Mr. Heine was very active in the Greenbriar community. He was chairman of many social events as well as a former trustee and on the insurance committee. He also participated on the bingo committee, bowling league, and The Serenaders Chorus Club and played poker with the men every Tuesday and Thursday night.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob M. and Anna (Koellhoffer) Heine, a son William K. Heine, brother Edgar Heine and sister Julia Daddis. Surviving is his loving wife of 65 years Marie D. Jaeger Heine; daughters, Deborah Visconi and her husband David of Jackson, Barbara Mancinelli and her husband Robert of Clifton and his son Robert Heine and his wife Linda of Wall.; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Heine of Howell and six grandchildren Kenneth, Stephen and James Mancinelli, Michael and Jordan Heine and Matthew Duffy as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be on Tuesday July 2, from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, July 3, 10 am at St. Dominic's RC Church in Brick. Entombment will follow at St. Catharine's Cemetery in Sea Girt. Donations may be made in his name to the Monmouth and Ocean Food Bank 3300 Rt 66, Neptune, NJ 07753 or to the Jackson First Aid Squad P.O. Box 516, Jackson NJ 08527.
