Robert W. Ostrander
AGE: 79 • Manchester
Robert W. Ostrander, age 79, of the Leisure Knoll section of Manchester Township, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Mr. Ostrander moved to Little Falls in 1985 and lived there until relocating to the Manchester area in 2005. He served in the Navy and was a member of the Secaucus Hudson and Little Falls Masonic Lodge as well as the Little Falls and Bethlehem Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star. In his free time, he enjoyed latch hooking, Nascar auto racing and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.
Robert was predeceased by his parents Edward and Helen Ostrander, his brother Roger Ostrander and his wife Christine and his brother-in-law Richard Peet. Surviving is his loving wife Nancy Ostrander (nee Peet); children Charlene Wright and her husband Jim, Donna Cole and her husband Greg and Karen Farragher and her husband Bill; grandchildren Tiffany Cole, Brian Cole, Michele Cole (George) and Reneé Wright (DJ); sister Laraine Satus and her husband Tony; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved mini Yorkie, Shadow.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 4Pm to 8PM at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manchester Township First Aid, 29 S. Colonial Drive, Manchester, NJ 08759.
