Thomas P. Turner
AGE: 71 • Briellle
Thomas P. Turner, 71, of Brielle passed away on October 11, 2017 surrounded by his family. Thomas was raised in Farmingdale, NJ, graduated from Freehold Regional H.S. and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He proudly served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. Thomas had a long career as a telephone technician and retired in 2014. He was a past Assistant Scoutmaster for many years with B.S.A. Troop 63 Brielle, NJ. He was a past District Commissioner for the Thunderbird District, Monmouth Council B.S.A. and was honored to receive the Silver Beaver Award. He was also a Vigil member of the B.S.A. Na Tsi Hi Lodge, Order of the Arrow. He also was previously a member of the Brielle First-Aid Squad.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents, P. Theodore Turner and Rita S. Turner.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 47 years, Linda (Adams) Turner. He is survived by his sons, Christopher and his wife, Melissa, of Needham, MA; Kevin and his wife, Kate, of Wayne, PA; Kyle and his wife, Erin, of Tecumseh, MI. He also leaves 12 grandchildren; brother, Hugh, and his wife, Myra, of Bricktown, NJ; sister, Catherine Gant, of Mount Holly, NJ; sister, Geraldine Gant, and her husband, Gerard, of Orlando, FL; sister-in-law, Christine, and Jerry Kraft of Ashville, OH; sister-in-law, Nancy Morris, of Obetz, OH; sister-in-law, Carolyn, and Charles Creagh of North Captiva, FL; sister-in-law, Theresa, and Nate Mullanney of Morrow, OH.
Thomas was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 4-6pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ. The Funeral Service will be Monday, October 16th at 12PM at the Orender Funeral Home. Interment to follow at the Brig Gen William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Wrightsville, NJ.
