Jessie Montgomery Halfhill, beloved wife of William Orion Halfhill, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at The Gables of Rolling Meadows, Wichita Falls, TX.
Jessie was born January 3, 1930 in Sacramento, California. She spent much of her life in Yuba City, California, where she attended school and raised her family. She was the daughter of Raymond Alexander "Monty" Montgomery and Helen Montgomery Hamby.
Jessie was happiest when surrounded by family, loved doing needlework, gardening and was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed square dancing and spending time with friends. Jessie was truly loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Orion Halfhill; daughters, Carol Henley of North Bend, Oregon, Maribeth Fonley Forsyth and husband John of Santa Rosa, California, and Kathy Halfhill Maxwell and husband Keith of Burkburnett; her brothers, Wesley Branaman and Patrick Montgomery; sister, Kathleen Bishop; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Branaman; son, Bill Halfhill; daughters, Patricia "Patsy" Fonley McCurry and Glenda Halfhill Winfree.
Jessie's life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Burkburnett. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, TX 76308-0804; or the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
