Sorry to hear about the passing of a great South Dakota Legislator. He knew more about taxation issues than anyone else and we always depended on Rep. Sivertson's input, analysis and opinion of any tax bills that came before the body.

Although I moved from Sioux Falls to Boston in 1991, when I was visiting Sioux Falls I would always look up and drop in with my old friends. I remember the night -- two years ago -- when I drove by his house and saw his lights on. I knocked on the door and Bob answered it in his bathrobe. He invited me in and we visited for more than two hours. Time went by quickly as we shared stories and opinions on how to save South Dakota from the Republican ideology and bring about meaningful progress to the State we both loved.

Always humble in his approach to life, Rep. Sivertson was respected by officials on both sides of the aisle in Pierre. Remembered as a fire fighter in Sioux Falls, Bob was always a "first-responder" in more ways than one.

We are all going to miss you, Bob! God Bless and Peace to you, always.

Rep. Richard Barnes, Ph.D.
District 11 - Sioux Falls, SD

Bob was one of my major supporters in Sioux Falls when I ran for Governor in in 1978. I had so much respect for him and his passions. Great memories of a respected public servant. Harvey Wollman

Even after my mom got Alzheimer's and she couldn't remember who I was. she still remembered Bob. He was a fine man who will be missed.

Bob Sivertson was a pillar of the Minnehaha County and SD Democratic Party. He always served the interests of the working man and woman. Bob and his wife, Donna, were steadfast in their support for Democratic candidates. I always enjoyed the thoughts, chuckle and the kind smile from Bob Sivertson.
You have made Sioux Falls and SD a better place to live, work and raise a family.
