Ed and I lived in the same apartment complex and met at the swimming pool there. He was very kind to me, and we shared a few dinners together. He spoke so fondly of Matt and Mark and his daughter in law. He told me how fortunate he was to have her as the mother of his grandchildren. He absolutely adored those little ones. I know that he had most recently taken rolls to the school and enjoyed his fellowship with them, and loved taking sandwiches to the bank because they were such good folks. I know that many got to enjoy his homemade jams and jellies. We had many deep discussions and had
shared the movie "Secretariat" after one of his home cooked meals. Such an interesting man. I admired Ed's spirit and will miss him.

My memory of Ed was when we were stranded at the Canadian border for three days. What started out as a disaster became a fond experience and memory.
