Dr. Keckler was my General Business teacher in 72-73 at Axtell Park. He received his doctorate that year and was very proud of that. He was the 1st person to teach me about a checkbook and to this day I still have to balance it to the penny.
I had a good time watching his girls one time while he and his wife had to go to a wedding.
My condolences to the family. Dr Keckler you will be missed

It was my good blessing to be in Plankinton South Dakota High School when Mr. Keckler came to teach there. He was a terrific teacher and a wonderful role model. I have always given him credit for me being able to hold down my first job of being a secretary. I took shorthand, typed, and filed just the way Mr. Keckler taught me. I also employed his "GET TO WORK IMMEDITELY" approach. Every day I would remember how he started the stop watch as we entered the room and then would report to us about the amount of time we wasted! My sympathy to his family and gratitude for being one of the many student benefactors of his talents!

"Mr Keckler" was my teacher at Plankinton in 1962. He taught me a life lesson, by explaining that the reason for the title of the movie, "The Crowded Sky" was all the emotions of people on the plane. I've remembered that for 55 years, and credit him that I look for meaning, not just words. He taught far more than what he had to even at that young age. Enjoy your memories of a good man.
