I was on a Military Track team with Larry when we ran in the World Military Track Championships in the late 60's or early 70's. I just remember that Larry was a great guy to hang with on that trip and I still have a picture of him, I think it was in Florence, Italy with him holding his arm out with pigeons all around him. I am happy to have that short time in my life to have known Larry. My prayers go out to his wife and family.

I learned of Dr. Larry Lemaster's death during the Beargrease Sled Dog Race as I volunteered along with several of Larry's old friends. Many happy memories were shared. We will always think of Dr. Lemaster as a gifted physician, ethical sportsman, and excellent "musher."
Rest in peace, Dr. L. and thank you again for your excellent care of my father in his last days of life.
My deepest sympathy to his family. EMB

Kim, So sorry for your loss. I just learned of Larry's death and felt deeply touched by the saddness of knowing our friend had passed. I have often thought back to the good times we all shared. I carry many good memories of those days and good times. Please know we share some small part in your loss and cherish the great memories of our lives shared path.

Larry was a year ahead of me and also from South Dakota. I knew I was headed for West Point and followed Larry's stellar track career in South Dakota, at West Point, and in the US Army. He was as good as there had ever been in track at that time in South Dakota. I was not in his class as a runner, but was proud to be on the freshman track team when he was a sophomore on the varsity. He always went out of his way to be friendly to me. His dad was South Dakota National Guard Adjutant and Larry often was able to get the governor's plane to take the academy cadets home to South Dakota for Christmas leave. I last saw Larry in Korea where he related to me his success on the United States Army track team where he had posted some incredible times in the 880 yard (800 meter) run. He was very popular at West Point and I believe he was captain on the track team as a senior.
