I have traveled far from Sioux Falls, but treasure time that I shared book group with Mary Helen -- and an amazing scarf she knit in my favorite color of green. I hope her journey is amazing.

My dear cousins,
Please think of the reunion that was held in heaven! M H will be having a blast.
The joy of you girls and your babies brought the most to Mary Hamm. This will be a lasting memory for you all.

God be with you all,

Cousin Barbie (what MH called me)

I was a Theta with Mary Helen. She was not in my class, but everyone knew she was special. I'm so sorry to hear of her death. Too young. I'm glad to read that she had a wonderful family. My sympathy to you.

Mary Helen was a junior at Faulkton High School when I arrived as vocal music instructor in the fall of 1966. She was an outstanding pianist and excellent accompanist and accompanied many of my music group as well as this young, single, new in town and to teaching, music instructor. She was every music teachers dream. She was the organist at the Congegational church where I went to church and the small congregation did not have a choir so they asked me to sing a solo every now and then and she accompanied. She came from a family of outstanding people. Her grandma and grandpa Leonard and Belva Seamen attended that church and would invite me over for Sunday dinner at there home which I was happy to attend. The were great people. Her mother Jane was one of my biggest cheerleaders and attended ever function the FHS Music Department participate in whether it was at home or anywhere across the state. I'm sure Mary Helen will be greatly missed and is probable accompanying some heavenly choir right now. R.I.P. Mary Helen.
