Bob Jensen Family -

Bob was a very good friend of mine. After graduating
we both worked in Luverne. Bob at the Rock County
Coop, myself at Doug's 66 Service Station.

We both bought new corvairs in 1961. Bob's was red;
mine black. We had a lot of fun racing against each other.
One Friday night, after an all night party, I was bringing
Bob home to his folks house at about 5 AM . When we drove
up, his neighbor (McClure) struck up a conversation with us.
He indicated his brother in Madison, WI (Ralph) had just
started a new business called Thermo King of Madison
and was in need of help. He suggested we both get a real
job. That Sunday we took both cars and headed for Madison.
Neither of us had a clue what Thermo King wasthought
maybe some kind of thermos bottle. We ended up going to
work for Ralph right away. After about 6 weeks, Bob had
gotten pretty homesick and headed back home. I stayed on
and made Thermo King my career, which lasted about 52
years, mostly in St. Paul, MN

I never saw Bob too much after that although I was fortunate
enough to visit Bob in Luverne last fall. Now I'm sure glad
that I did.

BOB, you were a very good friend!!!

So sorry to hear of Robert's passing. I am a relative of Robert by way of his dad, Morris, who was brother to my grandfather, Martin Jensen, and cousin to my mother, Doris (Jensen) Korthank. I wasn't fortunate to meet Robert very often, but I certainly recall the times I did.
