Went to school with Roger and worked with him for several years on a working ranch for Dr. Adrian in the early 60s. He was a groomsman at our wedding. Have many great memories of time spent with Roger. Sympathy to all those who will miss him daily. Our prayers are with you all Gary and Grace Lukes

I am so sorry for your loss. I know there are no words to match what your going through. So I'll give you a memory of Roger that I will never forget.
Roger was our neighbor for years in Selah WA.
He always had a kind word to say. I'll never forget when I asked him if he wanted to cut down our BIG pine tree in our front yard that I hated. I told him he could have all the firewood (they had a burning Woodstove). Well, of course he said yes. So, between Roger, JoAnn and myself (another Joann).....we cut down that tree!! JoAnn and I just helped pulling it down (lol), remember, this is a big tree (at least 30ft+)! Anyway, Roger spent all day cutting up the trunk of the tree and stacking the firewood. Well, when my husband got home from work, let's just say he was a little shocked...?! He kinda liked the tree and had NO idea what I was doing that day, let alone ask Roger to cut it down. So, of course, he asked what happened to the tree..... Roger very calmly said, "I cut it down", (As my husband is looking at him shell shocked).... Roger then shook his hand and said thank you for the firewood and continued working. This day I will remember forever, Roger had no idea my husband didn't know, but he was one of the kindest men I have known and gladly cut down that tree for his neighbor. Oh, and yes, my husband (Mark) and I are still married to this day, even after chopping down that tree! Thank you for this memory Roger.
Rest in Peace.....
Love Always
Mark, Joann and Dustin

The wonderful memories you all have of Roger, will sustain you thru your grief knowing he is where he wanted to be for years, The Lord opened the doors wide for Roger as I remember him walking down 1st street with bible in hand and the beginning of his alzheimer's. even then his love of the lord did not deminish.
