In loving memory of my dear friend, APD (ret) Glenn E. Martin who joined the Church Triumphant on September 2, 2020. I first met Glenn when we were both teenagers at Jackson Music Store on Lee Street in West End. Glenn was working....and I was visiting with my friend, Atlanta Policeman Frank E. Kennedy who was the instrument repairman. Glenn and I graduated from GSU with degrees in Criminal Justice in 1973 where we took many classes together. I continued to grad school and Glenn fulfilled his goal of joining the Atlanta Police Department. When Jim and I married, Glenn’s sister, Judy, lived across the street from us. Glenn was a confidant, a true brother in Blue, but most of all, he was a caring soul. He served as a pallbearer when my parents died. When Kennedy was in his last days, Glenn was there to help with many of the details. He was always just a phone call away!! My deepest sympathy, along with much love and many prayers are sent to his family.

I thank the Lord for Glenn. He was always kind and caring toward me and my family. He cared deeply for our church and served to protect us as we gathered for worship every Sunday. He always had a calm, assured manner about him. I know he served the Lord honorably while in his earthly body and I know he will serve the Lord forever in his perfect heavenly body.

We are so sorry for your loss. Glenn was such a nice man and always took loving care of our little Miss Olivia when she would come to your house for visits while I was out of town. Rosa, I remember you telling me he would hand-feed Miss Olivia in order to get her to eat. Being a special needs dog, I always knew she was in loving and caring hands with the two of you. We will certainly miss him.

Glenn was a classmate of mine at Sylvan High School. We also both graduated from Georgia State University. While we were not close friends, I knew Glenn to be a kind and caring person. In reading his obituary I was impressed with his service to the community in the field of law enforcement. He no doubt approached his job with the same integrity that he displayed in other areas of his life. I feel honored to have been a fellow classmate of Glenn's and wish I had known him better. I pray God's comfort for his family and others who will miss him greatly.

It was a pleasure working with Glenn, my office partner, at RADDF in Lovejoy. He shared many stories of his career in law enforcement and his love for his motorcycle. I will always treasure the time spent with the special group of us managers, joined by Rosa, at Serafina's for lunch. It is so hard to say goodbye so, it is farewell for now.
Rest in peace my friend,

Always a pleasure to be around our fellow Police Officer that we all knew as Glenn. I fondly remember being in his company several times during the last few years. He and I were Pallbearers at Retired Atlanta/FCPD Officer Buddy Adcock in 2019 and we went to Cracker Barrell afterwards where Glenn said Pinto Beans were full of Protein and few calories. He was always attending Retiree Luncheons and loved fellowship with all he knew. He will certainly be missed by many people. A great friend such as he doesn't come along often. Rest in Peace ole buddy.
