Through the writings of Branch and Garrow I've learned of her great contributions and shared her legacy with our children...We thank God for her life and commitment to social change...Rev. Dr. D.L. Flowers, Little Rock, Arkansas

Dora McDonald and my mother were first cousins. My grandmother and her mother were sisters. I always enjoyed watching Dora when she would be in the company of our family. She walked and talked so graciously. What a marvelous woman of God.

I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Ms. Dora McDonald. Dora was a lovely lady and she was my longtime friend. We met when we were both in the 11th grade and participated in activities of the Methodist Church. We continued to be friends while attending and, ultimately, graduating from SC State University. Dora and I were both members of the Moles, Inc. and she was always my guest at activities sponsored by my local chapter in Columbia, SC. I loved her dearly and will sorely miss here presence in my life! God Bless you, My Sister!!
