TRUETT, John Mark John Mark Truett, age 62, passed away on Nov. 21, 2017, following an intense fight with colon cancer. Mark, a long-time resident of Atlanta and later Jacksonville, FL, is survived by his son Eli Truett of Athens, GA, sisters Martha Truett of Oakland, CA and Susan Trammell of Asheville, NC, a niece Stacey Truett White of Stockton Springs, ME and a nephew Matt Trammell of Atlanta, GA. Mark was a multi-talented individual whose loves included tennis, swimming, and providing therapeutic services to individuals suffering from addictions and other mentally challenging conditions. Mark held a Master's degree in counseling from the University of North Florida and a business undergraduate degree from Georgia State University. Mark was a dedicated tennis player and coach, as well as a swimming trainer for triathletes. He also enjoyed playing the piano and songwriting, and was an accomplished home renovator whose building expertise transformed many homes.The family welcomes donations in Mark's name to either the American Cancer Society or Community Hospice, McGraw Center, in Jacksonville, FL. Plans for a memorial service are pending.
