Kenny Rogers Obituary
Rogers' spokesperson confirmed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the hitmaker passed away from natural causes at his Sandy Springs home. He was under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family.
Throughout his 60-year career, Rogers' distinctive velvet rasp powered chart-toppers including "Lady," "Lucille," "She Believes in Me," "Through the Years" and, with lifelong friend Dolly Parton, "Islands in the Stream."

Had booked to see Kenny at the Blackpool livewire weekend. He had, to unfortunately cancel and while I understand why, there was a part of me that was sad for me. It was the only time I had booked to see him as I had missed tickets for his tour of the UK. I am more upset for his family and glad that he had time with his boys

Dear Rogers family,
I am soo sorry to hear of the passing of Kenny. I know he had some health issues the last few years, and I always hated to think of this day! Speaking from a personal and business level, I have been a great fan for over 43 years! I had the wonderful pleasures of meeting Kenny 6 or 7 times due to the fact that I work in the entertainment business, and he played in my facilities, so I have an even closer feeling to him. Most recently, Kenny played his next to last Christmas and Hits show ever in my facility, the Warner Theatre in Erie, Pa. Dec 22, 2015 to a sold out crowd! what a night to remember. Working with the KR Team and all the band members was such a joy!

That is so true! He has no idea how much his music has meant to so many people, and how many lives he impacted through it, myself included. I remember the very first time I heard his voice. I was a fifteen year old black girl, from Kansas, smitten by his voice, and his appearance. Hearing, she believes in me, and I don't need you baby.. I knew I had become a lifelong listener of his music. I love... me some Kenny Rogers. I regret... I never got the chance to see him perform live in concert. When Kenny would sing it was mesmerising, as I tried my hardest to sing along verbatim note to note, pitch to pitch, I was always outwit, but I loved trying. Mr. Kenny Rogers, in my heart you will forever be missed, and your songs to my ears, will always be a gentle kiss. Now you are in the Heavenly choir singing to the Most High God, the Son, and the HolyGhost, and you are no longer here, means ... they needed you most. I'm so saddened to read this. I always dreamed of him being my daddy! Growing up in foster care I was very abused at a very young age. Although TV was only permitted while ironing...my foster father thought differently when it came to HEE-HAW!! As long as HEE-HAW was on the TV, everything was OK. This is where I met and fell in LOVE with Kenny Rogers!! His smile and voice truly soothed my scars and eased my pain of abuse. The second the show began, I would begin asking, is Kenny Rogers going to be on tonight?? I would listen to him singing along each and every word and when he would speak, I listened as if he were speaking to me!!
Thank you Kenny Rogers for blessing me and the world with your talent and music that meant more to me than can be imagined!!
