When Kenneth Hordge opened his barbecue spot in 2010, near the intersection of Fairburn and Campbellton roads, there was only one thing he could think to name it: Jabbo's BBQ. Read the news obituary.

In times like this it's difficult to find the words to express the loss you feel in your heart. Living next door to Maree, Uncle Ben and Nana their family became our family, Junior, Redtop, Kenny, Zannobia and Kenya. Neighbors looking out for neighbors, sharing a family bond of births,weddings, graduations, celebrations and deaths, the Blair, Breaux, Warrington and Hordge families. We are fortunate to have memories of loving and happier times and it's those memories that we keep forever in our hearts. Our prayers are for you and with you.

To the Hordge family.
I had the pleasure of meeting Kenneth while working at the 3100 building in Marietta. Kenneth was one of our HVAC men. He always had a smile on his face and was such a pleasure to talk with. He spoke frequently of his love of the beach, fishing and cooking BBQ. My heart is so heavy with the loss of such a great man. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and I wish you much continued success with the BBQ house.

Mrs. Hordge and Family,
We were saddened when Marian called to tell us of the transition of your son. I(Sandra) met Kenneth a short time ago and found him to be a very pleasant young man. Know that, this is NOT God's will. I pray that you find comfort in the Word of God in I Thessalonians 4:13-18;
" But I would not have you to be ignorant,brethren,concerning them which are asleep,that ye sorrow not,even a others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.
For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
We love you and will continue to cover you in prayer.

Some people make a difference just by being who they are. Their inner light shines bright and touches lives both near and far, and even when they're gone, they still forever play a part in the smiles, the priceless moments, that are treasured in the heart. In memory and in celebration of some who made this world a brighter and better place.

Kenya, there are no words to explain why certain events occur the way it does or why the unexpected seems to knock on your door....but there is a "COMFORTER" that knows all. Know that in all we do, GOD is still in control and has the last say. May the teachings, words, and spirit of our Lord and Savior keep/comfort you, your mom, and family during your loss. And may your dad's legacy/memories live on through you and yours. GOD BLESS......
