Kevin, Ms. Edna and Family,
Please accept our heartfelt condolences and sympathy from Gina, myself and our Family for your tremendous loss at this truly unfortunate and sorrowful time. Katie was truly my other "sister" whose long friendship, support, understanding and love was always unconditional and will be sorely missed by not only us but everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her if only for a brief period. Katie will always remain in my heart and thoughts of our times together from high school to adulthood will continue to play in my mind and she will never be forgotten. Remain as strong as you have always been and may God Bless you all.
James and Gina Brinkley and Family.

Mrs. Jiminez or Katie (as I got older she told me to call her that) was not only my 6th grade teacher, but she was my second mom; a selfless, loving person. She was always there to talk if you needed to. As I type this now, I don't like thinking in the past tense. She had a pretty smile and a laugh that was contagious! My heart broke hearing of her passing and I just want the family to know that she touched many lives and left a lasting impression on me. It saddens me to know that I won't be able to see her again. I am praying for the family during this tough time and know that she has a lot of former students who miss her greatly as well.
