I saw and heard Chief Brunacini at the ISFSI national conference on fire safety and burn prevention, in Alexanderia,VA, many years ago.
He was the least spectacular of all the presenters, but by far the most sensible, most listened-to, and most appreciated. Thanks primarily to him, we all went home with a sense of accomplishment, and time well-spent. His life had plenty of both, and we firefighters were very fortunate to share it. I'm a long-retired captain who will never forget him.

My late husband (Jasper Hawkins) served with Alan on the National Fire Protection Association Board. We have such fond memories of our times with Alan and his lovely, lovely wife. Alan was respected not only in Arizona and the nation...but also throughout the world! As fellow Arizonans, we were proud to call him one of ours! He set a standard for fire safety never seen before. We are all safer because of him. This is a man who really "made a difference"!! It is with deep sorrow that I bid farewell to this incredible man.
With deepest sympathy,
Patricia Hawkins (Mrs. Jasper S. Hawkins)

I am sorry to read about Bruno's passing. It was a great pleasure to have had him in 2 of my classes when Bruno was working on his MPA degree at ASU. He was an excellent student who brought also a needed practical and down-to-earth orientation to the classroom. We all learned much from his wisdom and insights. I liked his humor and our occasional banter. He will be missed.
