Burnie Boyd Benbow

Burnie Boyd Benbow passed away on June 26, 2020 at the age of 83. He was born in Buckeye, Arizona on January 19, 1937 on the farm and lived all of his life there. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Fred and Velma Benbow and his sister Martha Beamis.

He survived by his Siblings, Helen, Beverly and Fred; his sons, Keith, Dick and Shannon; 3 daughters-in-law, 7 granddaughters, 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

B. Boyd was somewhat of a legend, with 38 years of service in the Air National Guard, Farmer, Jack of All Trades and whole host of many other talents that he had mastered. Picture a man telling an unvarnished story, with a cigar in his mouth, unapologetically saying what was on his mind and you have a picture of B. Boyd.

He will be remembered for his big heart, that if you had the courage and integrity within you, would leave you with an everlasting feeling of blessed worthiness.

His family will notify at a later date, the details regarding the celebration of his life.

Boyd was a lifelong friend and neighbor to the Leslie Grandy family. Our families were generational friends. Boyd had a good and generous heart and was always a kind and thoughtful farming neighbor. We loved his folks and all of the extended Benbow families. God bless you dear friend. Well miss you around town. A Buckeye treasure.

Boyd was everyone's friend, including my brother, Jack Rooks, and also his classmate.Don't think Boyd ever met a stranger...always had a smile for everyone and always telling a corny joke/story. I, for one, will miss seeing him at the Old Settlers Reunion and getting a hug from him! RIP, Boyd!

God bless you on your flight upstairs. Hopefully you and dad might meet up and shoot the bull like the good old days. I remember the fun, picnics and exploring your place. I remember playing with your son's when they were small. I also remember that pinball machine and mostly the beautiful grandfather clock. Where did time go. But I know your job here is done and the big guy said it's time to fly to him for another mission. You are one of my greatest memories. I've always missed you and your family. To bad life changes things but that's how we live and learn. God bless you on your new mission. I know you will do well. Look for this guy. He always talked kindly about you. I hope he's there as you visit after your family. God bless you and may your gifts continue. I've always felt our families together was more than friends. On your way look for this trouble maker in the picture. I bet the 2 of you can make trouble wherever you are. I'm so glad you are no longer here and are at peace. This world is hell now. You will always be one of my best mamories. Super huge hugs and many kisses. ✝

My Dad, Red Hull, and Boyd were friends since the third grade. I have always heard stories about things they have done together. I didn't know him well, but my dad's heart broke with the news of his passing. I am so sorry.

Boyd was a good friend, but he was also a prankster. I learned a lot from him in my younger years, including keeping one eye on him when working together. He will be missed.

Boyd was special in many ways...he had a unique sense of humor and a master story teller. I know he will be missed by his family and friends. I had the privilege of going to school with him. He was what I would call consistent...you always know what you were getting with Boyd. True to his word and his character. RIP Old Friend.
